Mountain Biking - Cage vs platforms
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

my pedals gave up the ghost on the wkend (alas poor yorrick). ironically because we were tinkering with it too much. suffice to say, new ones are in order. Want to get cages again (i'm used to toeclips) but like to get an idea of how cages fare against platforms. Saw an earlier thread (2003) but just want to know if opinions changed since then - what do you guys think?

I would hazard a bet that very very few riders use cages anymore. Flats or clipless. The odd retro grouch might still be using cages and clips but really..most would have switched over by now (I think 2 or 3 others here use cages)
