Recumbent - Cycle Genius LTX anyone bot / got one?

I've found two bents that fit my parameters for off road desires. The Cycle Genius LTX and the Ranger Longbike . Both have qualities I require.
I am wondering whether these bents have any negative sides not reported in the glowing reviews?
One of them is cheaper.
And just slightly off this topic, has anyone cycled the Kettle Valley Railroad on a bent ?
If so on what?

I don't have either of them... But, I have seriously looked at the LTX, and I like it! Especially the cost of less than a grand. Disc brakes to boot.

I test rode the Cycle Genius RDX, their top of the line. It had very nice handling and just felt fast on the narrow tires. The seat back was too low for my 6'2" frame. Shifting some gears was very iffy. A lot of clattering and cur-chunking before finally engaging. My guess is due to the top chain being unsupported from front chainring to rear cluster. Most lwb's have some sort of upper idler or chain support. A couple of tweaks and this is a very good lwb.

I have a cycle genius (I can't remember the model off hand) and I love the bike. For the price, it was an awesome buy.

I have a little over 2500 miles on my LTX which I purchased in June. One the bike is dialed in it is as good a performer as any LWB ASS recumbent out there. The stock cassette had an 11tooth cog and no manner of adjusting could get it to stop skipping. So I swapped in a 12-32 cassette and all was well. with a 52 tooth big ring the 11 isn't really neccessary. Apart from that the bike has been absolutely reliable. It's a fast comfortable all day riding partner.

I'm running a zipper fairing and have made many changes to the bike. Specifically I wanted some features of the LTX (chromoly fork, 406 front wheel) and the RDX (700 C rear wheel, V brakes). So I hybridized by bike by building up a slightly up-spec wheel set around LX hubs and Sun CR-18 rims. I also switched to TerraCycle handlebars which get my hands behind the fairing. I also went to Shimano bar end shifters because I like friction. I rode about 300 miles on the stock spec. It worked fine stock but now the bike is set up exactly as I want it.

So how does it perform? In a word awesome. I did a solo century over rolling terrain averaging 16.5 mph. I've climbed Mt. Greylock and tackled the Petersburgh Pass. CG just nailed the steering geometry. You can go as low as 3-4 mph on this bike and stay upright. And it handles great at speed. At 45-50 mph it's rides like it's on rails. Low speed tiller is almost non existent and the TerraCycle handlebars eliminated what little the stock set-up had.

The seat base is very comfortable. You won't find a more adjustable recumbent seat. Of course being a LWB with a low bottom bracket you will want to have the seat back somewhat upright. I think the seat back could be a little higher. I had to do a lot of tweaking until I found a position that was upright enough for performance without digging into my shoulder blades. I did find it though.

This is a wonderful bike and an unbeatable value.

Well tis a bit late but I have put a down payment on the Lightfoot Ranger. It's a dual 26" bent made for the travel areas I crawl about in. Thanks for your replies. If some of my stocks go up as high as some I sold out early on , then I may splurge and pick up the CG RDX.

I would go with the Lightfoot Ranger. It seems to have better components than the Cycle Genius.
