Hi...

Would you guys tell me if this bike https://shop.sunrisecyclery.com/item/138431/ is a REAL Mongoose even though it is on their lower end and not the same as the Wal Mart version ?

I would think it's the real deal since it is listed here on the Mongoose site http://www.mongoose.com/usa/usaeng/mtn/Products/Mountain-Urban/Hardtail-XC/Details/3099-M11TYASPL1-Tyax-Sport

I just want to be sure it's a quality Mongoose & not made by Pacific :)

To be honest, I really like this model from Wal-Mart, by the specs it does not seem too bad ! http://www.walmart.com/ip/26-Men-s-Mongoose-XR-Comp-Dual-Suspension-Bike/10927850?sourceid=1500000000000003260420&ci_src=14110944&ci_sku=10927850

I'm just an older guy pushin 50 that likes to ride the pavement & hit some steep hills for cardio, I ride about 15 miles or so a day, sometimes more or less.

Thanks, I appreciate any info you can give me :)

For the life of me, I wouldn't even buy a mongoose or a Schwinn because I might get a walmart bike.

I see your budget is about $400.

Go to a bike shop, tell them what you're going to spend and they'll set you up.
Ask if the bike you buy has what I call "buy here, and free service as long as you own the bike" from the bike store. That's a big seller for me.
A starter, but good quality bike at a good bike shop with service for life is about $350, so the $400 will get you soemthing nice.

Yep, if it's listed on their website, it's not a pacific bike.

I'm pretty happy with my choice, I grew up with Mongoose in the 70's :)

I did not get the Jamis, I got this Mongoose instead............

The guy sold it to me for only $444.00 PP, on the Mongoose site it goes for 658.00
