Can a Bontrager RXL front skewer be converted to a rear skewer, using the threaded rod from an previous generation RXL skewer?

Is it an open cam or closed cam type? Open cam types usually have a m5x.8 thread on both ends of the rod and it's just a matter of threading one out and another in.
