My mom is hosting a high tea here for the wedding at a local cemetery. Good morning Birmingham uk got excited about it, so she her group got a spot on the bbc. Mom is extremely excited about it. I got sucked into a little computer work.

OK, true story. When one of my daughters was a toddler she stabbed me in the eye with a fork. Hurt like hell.

Besides, why waste time watching them when I can be busy buying this genuine imitation (http://katemiddletonring.net/)?

Yeah for real, wrong guy. I heard they pulled them and the ones sold are worth a lot now.
More limey nonsense from the middle ages.
What's the difference between a new wife and a new job?
After five years the job still sucks ;)
Kate's too good to get involved with that bunch of loonies. I won't tune into the wedding, but I will be glued to the tube for the divorce, when that happens.

My sister and I got up early to watch Chuck & Di get married 30 years ago. My daughter wants to get up and watch Kate & Wills tie the knot. I might join her. It will be an excuse to eat cake.

I like 80% champagne with 20% orange juice in my mimosas. And orange juice doesn't belong in a Bellini, that's just wrong.

Recipe: Wedding fruitcake petits fours
Bon Appétit test kitchen
Inspired by Kate Middleton’s royal wedding cake, these petits fours consist of a traditional British fruitcake, also chosen by Princess Diana for her wedding. To decorate the petits fours with flowers — as Princess Kate’s cake will be — look for icing rose and narcissus blossoms; available at beryls.com.
Ingredients
For the cake:
2 cups assorted minced dried fruits (such as pears, apricots, and cherries; about 12 ounces total)
3/4 cup dried currants
3/4 cup brandy
1/4 cup minced whole lemon (seeds discarded, peel and pith included)
1/4 cup minced whole orange (seeds discarded, peel and pith included)
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground nutmeg
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 cups (packed) light brown sugar
4 ounces almond paste
1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (2 1/4 sticks) unsalted butter, room temperature
6 large eggs
2 1/2 tablespoons vanilla extract
3/4 cup finely chopped lightly toasted walnuts
For the white chocolate ganache glaze
1 1/2 pounds white chocolate, coarsely chopped
1 1/4 cups heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
Assorted decorations (see introduction)
Preparation
For the cake: Combine first 5 ingredients in a large bowl. Cover and let macerate overnight at room temperature, stirring occasionally.
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Butter a large rimmed baking sheet (about 18 x 13 x 1"); line with parchment paper. Whisk flour, salt, cardamom and nutmeg in a large bowl. Beat both sugars and almond paste on low speed in a large bowl until mixture resembles a coarse meal. Add butter; beat on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 7 minutes. Add eggs and vanilla; beat to blend. Add flour mixture in three batches, beating just to blend each batch. Add walnuts and dried fruit mixture with soaking liquid; stir batter just to blend.
Spread batter evenly in prepared pan and bake until a toothpick inserted into center of cake comes out clean, about 45 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack and let cool completely.
Set a wire rack in a large rimmed baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Invert cake onto a work surface; peel off parchment paper. Trim 1/2 inch from all four sides. Cut cake into 1 1/2-inch squares. Place squares on wire rack.
For the white chocolate ganache glaze: Place chopped white chocolate in a medium heatproof bowl. Stir cream and corn syrup in a medium saucepan over low heat until mixture begins to simmer. Pour over white chocolate and let sit for 3 minutes, then stir until melted and smooth. Let cool slightly, stirring occasionally, until glaze is slightly thickened but still pourable.
Spoon glaze evenly over cakes to coat tops and sides. Refrigerate cakes on rack until glaze is set, about 30 minutes. Spoon a second layer of glaze over cakes. Refrigerate for another for 30 minutes.
Decorate petits fours. Transfer to platter.

I'm not impressed with that fruitcake recipe. You need to soak it with liquor for a couple of weeks. I'm not a fan of commercial fruitcakes, but I do like Alton Brown's Free Range Fruitcake (http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/alton-brown/free-range-fruitcake-recipe/index.html) recipe. I made it a month ahead so had plenty of time to soak it with brandy before eating it.

I have had a British fruitcake before and liked it. Very different than an American fruitcake. Although having just looked at Alton's recipe, that may be worth a try.

Bill Gates and Kate Gosselin with the 8 kids from Kate Plus 8.
I thought it was now called "Kate Plus 8 Minus John Plus Half of Johns Stuff"
As for the wedding, the only way I'd watch it is if Kate was going to wear her see-through dress. Other than that, no interest.
As for Billy Boy, I'm sure he's an OK guy and all, but I wonder if anyone pulled him aside and said "You know, Bill, the only reason you were able to score Kate is because you're Royalty. Without that, she would have not looked twice at you - so remember that and don't screw this up."
Bill Gates and Kate Gosselin with the 8 kids from Kate Plus 8.That'll drive anyone to drink.

Oooh, I need coffee...For a second I thought you said you and your sister watched Chuck D's wedding - I didn't remember that being televised, to the best of my knowledge.

I found out last night that Mrs. A wants to watch the royal wedding. It's going to be tough without a TV, and she really doesn't want to miss sleep for it. So I think she'll catch it online later.

Dammmmm - that long! I too watched that wedding. And yes - I will be watching - took the day off to watch that and other things, go riding and then at 3:47 - pm (EST) - watching the 2nd to last shuttle take off. You can watch it too:

It really is pretty cool - there’s someone (MC) explaining what’s going on (and filling in time I suppose) --- and then when the engines come on - it’s spectacular!!!

I know my mom will be up and watching. She gets "Hello" magazine and pretends to be part of the royal family all the time (yes she is looney). Its just weird people care so much... I must be missing that gene as its meaningless to me.
I did finally watch "The Kings Speech". If you haven't seen the movie watch it. Gives you a real insight into the royal family and growing up "royal"... it's not all a bed of roses.
