Coming soon to Cleveland. Ray's indoor MTB park. 66,000 square feet. www.raysmtb.com

I've heard heaps about this, it looks like it would be good for a little while, but it won't be good to push the limitations as there are restrictions due to it's indoorness. Once you've done it there isn't anything else to do, as with outside you can make a bigger drop or jump. But sounds like a good idea, especially for places where it snows.

wish we had something like that here! We have to drive about an hour and a half to get to any places like that, and its only a couple of bombholes!

Looks really sweet but I imagine I would get bored after an hour or so...Be cool if they had more skinnys or something, cause with wide bridges like that you gotta make up for it with narley drops and flow...

Hope to see more of those indoor parks for sure :D

I am just looking forward to being able to ride in shorts and a t-shirt in the middle of December, at the same time improving my tech. skills

I would love to see one here. I am hearing rumours of it, crossing fingers....

Then I would never have to do a winter sport and I could work on my jumping...

the pictures really dont show much of rays, i myself havent been there yet but a friend of mine is building most of it. There is a double teeter totter a rotating teeter totter and much more very technical stunts. There will be a video up on the site very soon.

well you may mention to your friend that this would be a great place to leak some more information, and promote the park. The "you'll just have to wait and see" approach turns some people off.

how many times do i have to tell you ed, its only an hour and a quarter!
anyway, there are plans for a place called 'snoasis' which is primarily an indoor ski slope, but they will put some trails in it too. Problem is, I dont know what they will be like ie XC or FR?
have to wait and see.
have to wait until 2010!
ill be dead by then!

One question: What happens when you bail? Smack into a concrete floor?

LOL! Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. At least with dirt you get a little cushion. I'd hate to see the insurance premiums for this project.

Pretty much. Or a wooden bridge, or a stump, another cyclist, pillar. Its either that, or trees, boulders, stumps, the ground (which isn't that soft, as we all know). Either one is dangerous.

It makes you more manly...:D...

I imagine cushons or dirt or something will be layed out like at GM place when they do their demo.

Yeah, no kidding. When you can't ride, go ski the world famous ski areas. Then, when the snow melts, ride the some of the most world famous singletrack! God what I would give... :(

Stand in nipigon ontario and look west. You will see the rockies :D...

Its an ongoing joke about how flat it really is. It is scarey how I consider ontario flat and it is like a mountain side compared to saskatchewan :)

Too bad we won't have anything that nice here anytime soon. There was an indoor skate park but it went under very quickly. Kinda sucks :(

it will be cool the first few times and all, but after that it'll just get old. That's about all :)

I think it'd be fun... but I'd get bored of it after a few trips. I guess it'd be a good place to work on technique during the off months if you were a racer.

I'd guess it all depends on your age/skill level. I'd love it :)

the thing I dont like is they raised the wood 4 feet up off concrete...you fall and that's going to hurt like one hell of an SOB

unless they put some sort of padding down, which it doesn't appear that they'll do. I guess that's why they require protective gear to be worn while riding the park.

Hmmm another cyclist sounds like the softest option........

There will be padding, i believe they are putting some hay bails down on some of the technical areas. I'm not sure if it will be everywhere or just near some of the high risk areas.

Anything over 5 feet in the air should have some type of padding.
