I'm changing the bottom bracket on my bike from the cup and cone type to a sealed unit type, as the cups/bearings are worn and are making a bit of noise.
I know how to repair/overhaul the cups and bearings so that is no problem.

But I've never fited a sealed unit type before, so I don't know what I need to buy to get this done properly. I have a good tool kit, it's just the spares that I don't know about.

Do I just but a sealed unit an thats it, or do I need to buy anything else?

Thanks for any help on this.

You'll need the BB tool (probably Park BBT-22 if you go Shimano) and, of course, crank puller. That's it.

You don't mention it, but the key is to assure that the new BB spindle is the correct length for your crank set.

Beyond that, these are easy to install. You say you can do loose ball and cups, then this'll be a breeze.
