Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - 80's bianchi

My uncle is looking to get rid of his old custom bianchi we believe its 80s it has full dura ace rd7402. If anyone could help with an age and price it would be great. I also have a serial number.

Need driveside pictures (thats where all the action is), and any decal describing frame and fork tubing material. Pretty good value, depending on where you live and your marketing skills.

The best way to price a bike like that is to look for comparable listings on CL, Ebay, or other classified ads. You might not be able to find your bike exactly, but a good place to start is to find out what the components are worth by themselves, and tack on the value of a comparable frame.

I always find 80s bike boom road bikes, usually hi-tensile steel with suntour or obsolete shimano components, that hover around the $150 to $200 range fixed up and can't escape. I think you're into the rarified stratus of sellers that get to set the price according to what it's worth to them. There are a lot of Bianchi lovers out there. Good luck!

I actually saw that on CL. I think the price is a bit steep, but I was going to drive up tomorrow and look at it if it was still available. I texted the other day and asked about the size I was told it was custom built, and would have to come and see it. I am just wondering if the frame was custom or the bike custome built.

when I saw it on CL I thought I knew what it was, but after seeing these pics, I am not sure. with the unknown brake levers, Triomphe calipers, worn out dura ace, and that unknown frame I think it would only be worth $250 - 300. I mean the frame could be a Tre Tubi Columbus, or it could be tre tubi 4130 with HiTen stays.

Check out Sheldon Brown's Dura Ace compatability page (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/dura-ace.html) to try to pinpoint your component group. It looks like 7402 was made from 1989 to 1996.

Hey, the poor non-drive side pedal does half the work.

I like the aero seat post. If it is Dura Ace in decent condition, those go for $60.00 and up regularly. I like the color scheme of the bike.
