Anyone doing t'other Wildflower this weekend?

San Luis Obispo Bike Club Wildlflower century out of Creston, CA, just east of Atascadero.

The SLO WF has been running ten years longer than Chico's, just sayin'

No question the Chico WF has better food and younger crowd - a more varied crowd as well.

I'll be there, on my 08 Soloist, prob'ly wearing Chico Corsa jersey.

Hey dead,

The 100 miler, looking to start as soon as they will allow, which I'll ask tomorrow afternoon at Registration (the day before is when last year's Ts might be available at $5/each).

See you, should be a fun one!

spidu--- looks like we are going to dodge a bullet. Winds today 15 to 20 mph with gusts to 30!!!!!!! day of ride wind is 5 to 10 mph. Much better.

Nice ride, hope to hit it again next year.

There were a few flat sections, but mostly rollers, not any real big long hills.

Pretty, green, quiet, well supported, fun!

Thanks to the Creston fire crew for the BBQ.

There was significant wind, but not too awful bad imo.

A rider had a cardiac event; the ambulance was rolling with lights and siren, perhaps a good sign - hope he/she made it o.k.

There was a crash, but didn't hear anything about it.

...aaand, there was some sketchy riding all right, e.g. full width echelon cresting a blind hill, whack?

...as well as some wonderful riding! This one gal, perfectly slim, has the smoothest stroke, perfectly straight, just floating, and not slow neither - she's at least 65, maybe more, big smile on her face all day. Cool.

I had a great time. You are correct about the scetchy riding. I was almost taken out by a tandem going down a hill. S.O.B. almost killed me!!! I think he had brake failure. Either that or brain failure. It is a great route. I recomend this ride to everyone.
