OK I was using motorcycle parlance but intent is the same. With motorcycles they often are clamped in. These are not. I can see a keyed ring on the top. Though I don't have a tool for it I can make one if nothing else. My question is are the fork uppers pressed into the triple tree or stem base or whatever its right name is. Or, is that keyed ring on the top holding the fork uppers from sliding out?

A model number / name or picture would help in ID'ing what you have, but if there are no bolts, they may be bonded on.
Why are you looking to take them apart, as they are probably not servicable.

Many Mountain bike forks, now, have the fork crown a pressure casting
of molten aluminum, around the fork and steerer tubes, in manufacturing,
and so cannot be removed.
If you have a Heavy abuse Down hill type fork with double crown ,
above and below the headset bearings, bars directly bolted to the upper
instead of a stem.
then the triple tree concept, can more be applicable,
Very early Rockshocks forks had clamp on crowns, but that was 20 years ago.

Well I was looking at just buying another XCC (what came on it) but should the stems be different size I could use me old stem.
As far as serviceable, I am sure they can be, just a matter of cost. Just seeing what info is out there.

The XCC is a low end fork, realistically all you could do for servicing is strip, grease and rebuild, this is the same answer that was given in an old post http://www.bikeforums.net/archive/index.php/t-22546.html
Most cheap bike forks are disposable, they will cost more to service than replace, and spares will not be avaliable, you need to have a big brand fork to make servicing possible, if the fork is from Rock Shox, Answer, Marzocchi, Magura or Fox, you will have no issues, most other brands, you probably will have.
