Hey guys,
I'm looking to build up a 'townie' in order to finish out my purpose built bikes and I have some specific desires in a frame. If you guys have any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
- fender / knobby tire space.
- fender / rack mounts.
- track-ish geometry (not too laid back, still want an aggressive frame).
- prfer (but not necessary) steel lugged.
I'm thinking something like this:

or the Salsa Casseroll.
or soma cross check.
...but with more compact track-esque geometry... which I prefer for around town.
any suggestions? I've looked around a lot and am essentially looking for some ideas that I might have missed.
Help me find the perfect frame:thumb:

No thanks on the mercier, never liked them. I'm looking for something a bit higher end to build up myself.
but that is the idea.

Been researching all day, can't seem to find something that works, might not exist.
sounds like you want a bb30 cross frame and a beercomponents ebb adapter

Not really sure what you're referring to, unless you know a specific single cross frame with tight geometry.

Not sure if it has the mounts you want but have you looked at the Kona Paddy Wagon?

I know you said higher end but I think the Motobecane Jury sounds like exactly what yer looking for. The frame is made by Maxway witch generally has met with praise around here.

That's pretty much what I'm looking for, know of one with a lugged frame? or any other options along those lines.
nice find.
This might be what I get if I don't find a 'better' option. All of the other options that I've found have had a more backward sloping top tube which i'm not that fond of, but isn't a deal breaker.

Something with a bit more personality.
I don't know of any frames with track-ish geometry, rack and fender mounts, and large tire clearance, because to some extent they are incompatible, at least as far as wheelbase is concerned. And also because most people are going to prefer a more stable ride when carrying a load. Further most people would have major heel-strike issues with panniers and track-length chainstays.
I'm not questioning your preferences. Presumably you have your reasons for wanting a bike with large tires, a rack and fenders, and super-quick handling, but I think your search is going to be pretty difficult. The closest you'll likely get is the steamroller and Kilo WT, and I know the former at least doesn't have rack mounts, though you can use p clips.
