I sucked in the classics, but I'm peaking in July.

Apologies in advance to the members of the Second Mice team. If the past is any indication, they'll all crash out on the first day or get parasites or show up 10 minutes late to the start.

Then scroll all the way down and click "Join League", then enter the code in the OP.

I see my problem. I clicked on the link and formed a team there, not at the velogames.com one. Oh well. Off to a decent start over there anyways.

Fortunately, the race is still young as I am bringing up the rear at the moment.

A brief glimmer of hope w/ Gadret, but it un-glimmed quickly enough.

I was in last a couple days ago. My team is built around climbers, so I hope to make a push later on.

I'm giving you both a run for your money for last place. I really suck at this fantasy stuff. 480th out of 570 over at nrtoone. :o

Do you have the same team on both sites? I'm pretty low on nrtoone as well. With the selection process and different rider costs I was able to load my team up with even more climbers over there.

Close, but not exactly the same. nrtoone's point system is a little different than velogames, so the same team was too expensive at one or the other. Tyler's on both teams though, so....

How have you done in past years?

I know this is a real hilly course, but I find picking climbers too much like picking breakaway artists, buying lottery tickets, and predicting earthquakes (though I did pick Pineau). Velogames does seem to give them more due than nrtoone. I weighted up a little more on GC riders than I would have on a regular tour, and we'll see how it goes.

I picked the wrong side of the Tyler / Cav coin over on nrtoone, but my wife had 3 from Leopard Trek so I may still win the throwdown that's closest to home.

Doing not too badly over at nrtoone. Currently sitting in 33rd, however my wife is currently sitting in 8th, so I don't even have bragging rights at home. Loosing Farrar isn't going to help me catch up either.....

With Hoogerland taking silly flyers off the front end he might not even catch up to where Tyler left. Better than my man Beppu though.

I'm shaking my head in disbelief that I didn't get in and make my final round of adjustments. Sob, had my eye on LeMevel (and a few others, probably would have screwed that up anyway), but Beppu was just a placeholder until I figured out my budgets. Damn the electric fence.

Man, I was on top, but now I'm starting to flounder because I decided that the sprinters were my friends :P

I am cursing myself about Le Mevel as well (had him in there and swapped him out) but otherwise am happy. I dropped from 9th on Wednesday to 69th after today though...

Teams Big Ring Climbers

Being down to 7 guys sure isn't going to help! Too bad Duarte had to pull out. With Menchov losing that much time, he would have had a lot of leash to go after stage wins. Guess I'll have to live vicariously through my wife. She's still in 8th.

I'm down to 7 as well having lost Rohregger and Duarte, but I had an awesome day with #1, #2, and #4 + Contador taking pink yesterday. :)

I am now dead last.. :( Sprinters are not my friends.. lol

Well it's a marathon not a sprint (unfortunately for those of us who over-represented on the fast twitch side ;) )

The younger me would talk a lot of smack about Mudcats going down, etc., but honestly I'd just like to see some of us crack the top 300 on this league. So go Team BF! Mudcats rule! Good luck to all in phase 2 of this infernally unpredictable Giro.

Cavendish evidently is going to drop out, the good luck I've had with Le Mevel is probably at an end, and I'm not sure anybody else but Contador on my team is likely to do much. Going forward, I think the people who have both Contador and Nibali are going to advance. Anyway, I'm glad to be on top however long it last. Mudcats rule!

I checked the results and it seems like the 'cats hung on in a photo finish for 3rd place, knocking me out of the podium! Oh, the excitement.

Wait! There's more! The UCI commissars are reviewing their rule books and may be lopping off another hill climb or such. It looks like the End of Tour points from the final update are gooned up. E.g. Sastre got 500 and Contador only 300-something. We shall see if the whole thing changes once more. Round and round she goes.....

4th place for me. I took a chance on Sastre and it didn't pay off. Forgive me for saying it, but he was outscored by Wouter Weylandt.
