Is it possible to install bar end shifters on a set of trekking (butterfly) bars?

Let me make the question a little clearer--is there some sort of adapter kit available for bar ender shifters that has mounts which would allow a person to mount bar end shifters on the part of the back end of the trekking bar (directly above the head tube)?

Thanks for any help on this.

Paul Thumbies (http://www.paulcomp.com/mtthumbie.html) are what you need.

Depending on how your cables need to be routed, you my need to use some brake noodles to route the cable without kinks,

I had just basic thumb shifters mounted right up next to the stem. It worked great.
