Great Lakes - Chicago Critical Mass: Pre-show - April 29th. 2011

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Me and my fiance just got home not too long ago from doing the Critical Mass ride here in Chicago. The ride it's self 17 miles but we did some riding earlier in the day that led up to the event with a grand total of 27 mile ride today. This was just leisure riding today with the girlfriend. They performed three dance routines to three different songs. This was the Pre-Ride show! I will upload the other two tomorrow... I am tired! Enjoy!

Third video. So sorry about the audio quality. I was standing next to the fountains and wasn't paying attention like a d**che!

Wow, I think you might be alone in those feelings! Me, my girlfriend and everyone at Critical Mass had a smile on their
face while these ladies were doing their thing! Even the Cops enjoyed the show. Men and women Cops. We (and MANY
others) hope they come again!
Well, I'm ok with being alone with my feelings. I kept thinking there was going to be a little more on-bike trickeration... maybe some freestyle.
Critical Mass has never really been my sort of event, so don't worry too much about my opinion. Glad you enjoyed it.

Hey, no hard feelings. It's all good man! I like freestyle tricks as well but that is not what they were about. Plenty of freestyle "trickeration" going
on at Critical Mass but that is not what they were totally about. I like to support different events relating to bicycle advocacy and Critical Mass
is my no means the only one but certainly something me and my fiance enjoy doing on the last Friday of every month... if we have time. Have a
great day and what part of this great country (or great planet) are you from?

i would agree. does dancing badly with bikes make it a cycling event or part of the cycling community, and therefore is good? or is this another example of everyone being special so we have to applaud them for dancing badly with bikes?
but if you did like that, you might like this too

I don't really know if CM promotes cycling advocacy....it could be just the opposite

when i was working downtown in 2008 and 2009, i think i hit up every CM event, and I can testify that it isn't helping cycling advocacy at all. I do however enjoy cruising around the city, and sometimes when you have a good leader for the ride, you will get to see some parts of the city you never would usually. Then there are the times when some hipster moron takes charge and ends up in Garfield Park for fixie polo. I could have killed every freakin' hipster that night. Taking my 7.3FX as fast as it would go, staying in the red the entire time, from Garfield Park back to civilization down Jackson was a ton of fun.
