Fifty Plus (50+) - N+ 1 milestone

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

The Xtranormal animated movie, that I made a little more than a year ago, explaining we baby boomers and the N+ 1 equation has surpassed 3,000 viewings. My two sons said that it was "stupid" and my wife said "oh my God, we had that conversation".:innocent: And, since making the epic movie/video, I have N+1 x 2.:thumb:

I think most of us have had that conversation.
My wife is actually very good, but I kid her that my new bike is named after her, it's a Trek 4.5 Mad-one.

Oh. My. God. That is brilliant!
I like the dude's outfit choice, BTW. I know that we refer to the lycra clothes as the "superhero outfit" but the literal translation just drives it home all the better!
If there was an Academy for bike-related films, I'd nominate you. Maybe UBI should start their own awards show (you'd have to get your own special category for animation, as the rest of the entries would come from the FG crowd :D )
Excellent work.

... since making the epic movie/video, I have N+1 x 2
Is that N + 2 then? or N2 + 2 (which means you need two more bikes for twice the amount of bikes you already own, I think)
It was good the second time around.

Very nice. As I have 8+ bikes, should I show that to my spouse it might have the n-1 effect of unintended consequences.

Ajet,
I am so pleased to hear your Boomer N+1 is receiving the recognition it truly deserves. However, I was more than a little disappointed to find Mrs. Jet not even nominated for Best Supporting Actress at this year's Oscars. Moreover, I thought your film would be a sure bet to win "Best Costume Design" based on the underwear worn over the bike short, alone!

Congrats, A'Jet. I never heard... did you get the vintage bike?

Running Pirate, Since the movie was made I have increased my stable by 2. Another MTB and a TT bike. I justified the MTB by selling a Ranger pickup that was sitting in one of the garage stalls and only used to pick up mulch. The TT, well, there was no justification.
Miss kenton, only a woman would notice the fashion misstep.
AzTallRider, yes I did restore my vintage Raleigh and ride it with a big smile.
That was good Jet. I cant believe, that I just started looking at new bikes again. Talk about sick, huh.

Math fail. :)
You have N.
You always have N.
That's how N+1 works!

OK, I have/had N+1, then 7 months later I have/had N+1 again. My math skills are not great, I was a recreation major in college and don't stay in Holliday Inns, so that is why I say "N+1 x 2". What should it be N+1 and N+1? By the way... my N=8
A'Jet, math and spelling aside and lack of Holiday Inn stays, this movie is a rerun. At least Hollywood gives us sequels and remakes.:D When is the next one?

You are correct in that I've been neglect in producing any new epic animated movies. My creative juices had been utilized on animated ride invites i.e.

http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/7581661/tue-nov-10-night-ride
or, http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/7767281/tue-nov-23-ride-invite
and, the movie I needed to make to challenge myself to ride the rollers no handed http://www.xtranormal.com/watch/8195197/riding-the-rollers
It looks like I値l not ride local training race tonight due in part to 41 degree temps and rain and will be doing HIT intervals at home on the rollers instead. Possibly I値l begin the development of a new movie during the recovery between intervals.:D

Don't forget about Rule #12. " ...This equation may also be re-written as s-1, where s is the number of bikes owned that would result in separation from your partner.

Here I was thinking that a 'N+1 milestone' in the 50+ forum would mean that you bought the 'n+1' bike that takes you to the total to match your age... I mean, we have the 'ride your age' threads, so how about a 'n+1 your age'? Now that would be a milestone!
