Recreational & Family - Burley trailer and disc brakes (Alternate Hitch)?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I finally replaced my commute bike that was stolen last Fall. I got the Trek Portland (http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/town/commute/portland/portland#). My old bike was disc on the front, and v-brake on the back. My mountain bike is full disc, and riding year round in Seattle, I opted for the full disc on the Portland.
With the good weather (finally), I broke out the Burley trailer for my kids. It just had not occurred to me that I would not be able to pull the trailer as the classic hitch won't work with the disc brakes.
I found that Burley offers and "Alternate Hitch (http://www.burley.com/shop/images/170018manualallhitches2008r3_001.pdf)" that replaces the quick release on the rear wheel.

-First off, has anyone used a hitch like this before?
-Second, I can't find any info on whether or not I can use this on my old Burley D'lite. The newer Burley's have a square arm, and my old one has a round tube. most of the photos I see of the alternate hitch look like it is made for the square tube.

It may be moot as it seems a very scarce item (at least I am having problems finding one).

Thanks!

I had great results from calling Burley. They know the bikes and will be able to suggest the correct hitch for your bike. I had no trouble getting through and the person I talked to was great. Phone number is toll free and on their website.

I figured it out with a little digging. I need Burley Forged Standard Hitch: QR/Nutted (http://www.amazon.com/Burley-Bicycle-Trailer-Standard-Forged/dp/B001GSMUDA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1304316021&sr=8-1)and Burley Design Flex Connector for Round Tow Arm (Black) (http://www.amazon.com/Burley-Design-Connector-Round-Black/dp/B001GSQXUG/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1304316021&sr=8-2). I got both of them on Amazon for around $30. Actually, I am pretty happy as it will be so much easier than hooking up the classic hitch. If it goes well, I might get a second hitch for my wife's bike.
