1. Alex DV-15/High-Flange Hubs
I just got these and they seem nice enough for what he's chargin. They're nice and true but I only have about 50 miles on them. The hubs have "Formula" stamped on them. Theres speculation that these are actually the same hubs used by IRO and NYC Bikes for their wheels - and most people seem happy with those hubs. However, the axles are a little shorter than I expected. They work when spaced out to 126mm, but I think 130mm might be pushing it.
I have the black v. selling for $134 or whatever. The sidewalls are not machined, they are painted. Brakes don't grip well to start, but new Salmon Koolstops work great in comparison. Nice and true, but some play after 100 mles in the cones. Just breaking in, I guess.
Also the threads on the cheaper Suzue hubs were pretty rough, not clean at all. Some filings/machining mess still there.
Not thrilled, but acceptable.

I have a set of #1's on the way. I'll let you know what i think when they arrive.
I have also heard that the black figh flange hubs are the same as those used by IRO, except in black. And they are indeed made by formula. Now if only stupid Canada Customs would get off their ass and clear my f###ing package....
I want my wheels dammit.

I was quite pleased with the set I got with Suzue Pro hubs, velocity razor rims, and double butted spokes for $185. Harris Cycles (who I love) sells the hubs alone for $150.
However, they did arrive under tentioned and I had to do some work before riding them.

I checked on the Alexrims.com and they list the DH22 and DV15 rims under cyclocross/touring. Does this mean they are stronger than regular road rims?
