Man, I just can't seem to get on track this year.
Sure, late November through December were kind of lost to the holidays but January was pretty good and I got some miles on my legs (felt GOOD, too). Then our March Madness descended upon us and there went my miles for March (think I got, like, 14 miles in all month). April was continuing to look good but then Mom was in a serious accident and ended up in the ICU in critical condition. It was touch and go for a while but she seems to have turned the corner... Meanwhile my wife headed down to be with her Mom and help her Dad for a month... it'll be 2 more weeks before she's back home (first time we've been apart this long in 31 years. Can't say I like it much). Riding always helps; I put in some miles to try to burn off some stress. Right up until I slipped on some back steps leading down from our deck and landed on my back/hip. Major, major ow-ie* I'm starting to heal up but I haven't been back on my bike in over a week and ahalf and it'll be a few more days before I think I'm ready. Jeez, this just sucks. The good news in all of this is that work is undergoing a HUGE re-org right now and I really couldn't care less. Having just gone through 3-4 weeks of *real* "life-and-death", wotk hardly qualifies.
* For your viewing pleasure, so many colors... that big red/purple blotch is 5-6" across.
