My wife really wants to throw some front bags on but with the carbon we are leery to do so. 2007 ocr1w. She loves the bike and would like to keep it. Would the carbon forks put up with the flexing strain from the added weight or would it be in my best interest to swap out with some steel forks. Does anyone know a good resource for forks. She is pretty particular about fork color. I found black but need white.

Even if the forks would put up with the strain, I suspect the geometry of an OCR probably isn't ideal for touring... especially with front bags added to the mix.

You could easily use something like the Old Man Mountain Sherpas, which put most of the weight on the front skewer.

I concur that the OCR1 might not handle great when loaded. You might want to consider using a trailer, and have the stronger rider tow it and/or trade off hauling duty.
