Have any of you guys raced in a fixed gear alley cat before?
I am interested in participating in a local alley cat for fun. It would be great if those of you who are experienced could share some tips or experiences with these alley cats.

Since they are only 5$ to participate, why not give it a shot?

I've done a couple. They were great fun. The ones I did took place on public roads open to traffic. So just be careful and don't do anything too stupid. As long as you don't take them too seriously (I have trouble with this...) it should be a lot of fun.

Some tips: wear a helmet. Get there early and plan out your route (if it's a checkpoint type.) Most of all, have fun.

Thanks for the advice! It's gonna be hard to not take it seriously after considering all the prizes haha.
