You know who you are; all you virginal voters who just voted for the first time.
Do you remember when your parents told you about going into a booth and marking a ballot with an X and somehow you just couldn’t imagine your parents doing that.
How they told you it wasn’t the size of your X that mattered; it was where you put it.
Remember how they warned you if you voted away from home; you’d get the proxy.
Then you heard stories about a man who went to the polling station on Monday; because he suffered from premature election.
Then the day finally came and after waiting for so long it was all over so quickly and you wondered what all the fuss was about.
You probably didn’t get to put an X anywhere, but had to poke your own hole. Or worse still only got to touch it with your finger.
Then after when you realize what you’ve done; you start to worry.
Did I get the country into trouble? What will it look like, and will it be mine?
One thing for sure whatever it is; it will be an ungrateful b@stard.
