For the first time in one year, I wimped out. I admit it. The driving rain was no big deal, but I got on the bike to ride home and the wind nearly blew me off I got concerned. When the wind was taking the bike out of my hands as I stood desperately trying to hold onto it while trying to remain upright myself I decided it was time to take the advice of Kenny Rogers' old gambler, "You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them." Friends and neighbors, today was when to fold them. I walked the half block back to my office and got a ride home. As it turned out, I probably could have waited a half hour and ridden home, but the bad weather was supposed to last into the night. The rain is still falling, but the wind is not bad at all.
OK, so I'm a wimp. Let the jeers and catcalls begin.
