Are there websites / organizations to check with to find Tri events in my area? I'm thinking of training up for something next summer / fall along the lines of a sprint or Olympic distance. A Google search wasn't helpful...

Here are a couple links: triathlon clubs (http://www.coloradotriathlete.com/Clubs.htm) and races (http://www.coloradotriathlete.com/Calendar.htm) in Colorado. Looks like the races haven't been updated for 2005 yet. You can register for many races through active.com (http://www.active.com/search/index.cfm?search_criteria=&zip=80202&sport=12&event_dma=751&maxrows=50).
