You could try strapping it under the armpits instead of via the chin, you'd have to make some kind of extension to do so. :innocent:

Last weekend I saw a guy with a very interesting set-up. He was wearing the helmet strap under his lower lip, instead of under his chin. That might work for you. Another thought is to cut the strap out completely. Most likely, the hardest hit will be the first hit. As long as you hit headfirst, the helmet will take most of the impact. I'd suggest a skate style helmet as they offer more protection.
