During the warmer months I wear baggy MTB shorts. These are comfortable to ride in and look like normal clothing when I'm off the bike. Now I'm looking for some pants that do the same thing. I've notice some companies are making looser fitting tights. Sugoi has some called Cafe and Expresso. Does anyone here use tights like these and if so how do you like them.

I've been using some INSport winter training pants quite happily for 35 to 55 degree weather, depending on wind. I haven't had any problems with "hooking" like I do with jersey shorts. If I wear my bike shorts under them, I feel quite comfortable, and a lot less silly walking into a store. Especially if I remember to take my helmet off.

I always wear every vestige of proud bikewear (and extra crazy stuff, like a feather in my helmet) when I strut into a store...

Thanks for the replies. Jean I checked out Insport's website and it looks like they're have some sales on cooler weather wear. I guess what I'm really looking for is something that I can slip on over some cycle shorts and be comfortable riding in but also be able to blend in with civilians.

I've been using some cotton sweatpants that have worked out nicely but their getting ragged and I can't find sweatpants that are actually made for athletics. They all seem to be designed for TV lounging.

I've been thinking about some military pants. I used to have some that were a poly/cotton blend and very comfortable. Too bad Hunter left, I'm sure he' have some advice.:D

LBM, I hear ya, but I draw the line at lycra shorts. Don't want to scare the little kiddies. I love going into the W-mart with my windjacket and messenger bag. People don't know what to make of me.

You can get some incredibly light, small rolling, wickable trousers in walking gear shops these days - I find them a liitle loose or cycling more than a mile or two, but they'd weigh next to nothing to carry and slip on over your shorts.

Being a commuter, I just wear street clothes. Although I do keep a wind/rain suit in my pack. My cothing are loose and comfortable.

Thanks Marcus and welcome to the forums. I wear my regular clothes for short rides but anything over 5miles and I'm more comfortable in clothes made for biking. Also riding tends to wear holes in the crotch of my jeans.:D

I generally wear cheap sweat pants myself--Jerzees, I think--and find them extremely comfy. When it gets too hot for them, I may cut some off......

thbirks, believe it or not, exercising-type sweat pants seem to be seasonal merchandise. You have the best chance of getting them in fall. (As if nobody exercises in winter and spring! Sheesh!) Best bet is to stock up in fall on enough to last you a year. You can probably buy ten pair for the price of one set of Lycra shorts, anyway. :D
