I helped a my wife's coworker and friend of ours to put together a Nirve Wispy that she had ordered online. It came in last week and I got over tonight to put it together. I never heard of Nirve before and was kind of concerned about the quality. Looking it over, though, the frame had clean welds (except that the tab that holds the chain guard on was a little crooked, necessitating an adjustment to the chain guard to make it sit straight), and the hardware was pretty good, with the possible exception of the front brake which was pretty low-end. It had a smooth shifting Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub with a coaster brake.

I was a little disappointed that she didn't buy locally, but she said she looked and found some great bikes... at several hundred dollars out of her price range. Fair enough. I hope her bike lasts. For the time being, it looks pretty.

What matters is that SHE likes it - and I see her smiling!

the nice thing is it's a single speed, not too much worry about the component group quality. Get out there and enjoy it...that's the big part, then the price range takes care of itself.

What matters is that she rides it.
