General Cycling Discussion - Dumb shorts question

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I just purchased a new and expensive pair of road shorts (Sugoi Technifine) and don't know enough to decide if they are the right size or maybe too big. I fall in between medium and large. Which is better, a little tight or a little loose? ( I told you it was a dumb question!) Thanks, Roger H
Personally I go for a bit tighter rather than loose, loose shorts will move around and tend to bunch up. Also having loose shorts is not a good look when you are off the bike walking around. They will stretch over time so a bit tighter is probably better.
CHEERS.

Bike shorts should be tight, but shouldn't pinch and should slide on (wather than having to be stretched to get them on).
There are *huge* variations in sizing and cut from one brand/model to the next. It usually takes more than one try to find the perfect fit, unless you're lucky.
If you're between medium and large for one brand, I'll guarantee you're exactly a medium or a large in some other brand.
If you mail order, be prepared to do a lot of returning. That's why I think shopping around in person for that first pair of shorts is a good idea.
