Fifty Plus (50+) - Don't forget...
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am organizing the one in my town. This year I'll be wearing a red arm band. :(

Not that I have any objection to the organization but doesn't this belong in Advocacy & Safety?

It's a reminder. What could be more on topic in 50+ than forgetting?

There must be one going on in the Mesa Phoenix area? I'll check with my club.
Considering the ridiculous number of cyclists killed and injured where I live, it seems weird that our ride of silence is organized by the mother of a teenager who was killed while jaywalking in front of a school that didn't have a school-zone reduced speed limit sign (and still doesn't). The city reworked the roadway to provide a safe crossing for pedestrians but left the substandard, at some places one foot wide, bike lane untouched. Not to diminish her loss, but it is a bit like having the American Cancer Society run an anti-war demonstration. There's a connection, but it isn't the strongest one available.

I guess she had to do it when none of the more appropriate groups would.

Not that I have any objection to the organization but doesn't this belong in Advocacy & Safety? Yeah, probably.
It's a reminder. What could be more on topic in 50+ than forgetting? Thanks BD.
