Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

We are thinking of taking a vacation in the Williamsburg, VA area and were wondering if anyone was familiar with the area's bike paths. I'm looking for bike/recreation paths that would be suitable for children that are not quite ready to deal with riding in traffic. Scenic or otherwise interesting locations would be a bonus but not necessary.
You're in luck! Williamsburg is a great place to cycle with a family. The new Virginia Capital Trail system is coming together nicely, with the section from Jamestown Island to the Chicahominy River complete. http://www.virginiacapitaltrail.org/ This is a perfect paved trail surface for young riders not ready for the roads. Be sure to check out Williamsburg Area Cyclist as well. http://www.wabonline.org/ Freedom Park has close to 20 miles of mountain bike trails that has something for every rider. http://www.jccegov.com/recreation/parks/freedom-park.html Check out the skate park too on the P&R link. The kids will love Busch Gardens and Water Country as well.
