Southeast - Brighthouse cable customers

Before moving to Florida, our cable supplier included Universal Sports TV which covers most of the major bicycle races.

I've emailed Bright House asking that they include Universal Sports since they are already paying for the NBC Universal package but one customer requesting a channel has little effect.

I'm going to tell you something about Brighthouse. They don't care.

I fought for ages to get them to add ESPN's online coverage, it didn't matter. They only added it when it was time to renegotiate the contract. Now this may have something to do with the network also, but they've (as a subsidiary of TimeWarner I believe) have had problems with networks when it comes to renegotiations. Personally, I blame the insane overvaluation of just about everything in the U.S. these days, but that's a conversation for another place.

With everything I've said so far there are outside influences... but the truth is their customer service is horrible. They crashed their system about a year and a half ago, and their response was to shut their phone lines off and credit their customers for 8 hours of lost service (which most of us had a lot more). If there's no outage reported in your area you are expected to wait a minimum of a week for a service call, and then to pay for it on top of it. I literally had my service disconnected by a tech installing someone else's cable. I saw the truck outside and asked them to have him come over when he was done and they refused. I went and spoke to the tech who was cool and checked. Seeing what he had done he fixed it and apologized. However the person on the other end of the line was absolutely horrible and he was a contractor doing work for them. Furthermore, I "upgraded" my internet service last year and since have had more drops/interruptions then before and they refuse to acknowledge it.


Good luck with Brighthouse. I'm not wasting another breath on them if I don't have to and I'm looking forward to the day I can opt for a better service.

I agree completely with everything you say about Bright House In the meantime, there is no other option here and, if FIOS was offered, the don't carry USTV either.

If enough folks email, they might get the idea.
