Commuting - Show us a map of your commute

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Borrowing a great idea from the C&V forum...... Show us a map of your commute.
Here's mine. 11 miles one way from Fort Hunt, VA to Arlington, VA.

That must be a beautiful ride. Very scenic. Mine is just full of 4-5 lane 35-45mph roads.
I agree with cyclist5 look at all the greenery on that map. Mine has NO greenery! LOL. I was going to put my map up until I realized isn't this telling people where you live?

You could always trim the first (and last) 1/2 mile or so to obfuscate your home and work addresses.

A mere 1.25 miles, almost no traffic, but I do see bears fairly often...that keeps you on your toes.
I envy some of you. My commute (http://ridewithgps.com/routes/416509) is 7-8 miles all urban, dirty, stinky, horrible pavement, lots of traffic. I see dead squirrels often...
I wanted to add that until I started commuting I had no idea that bunnies lived near the railroad tracks. I can see their point. Behind 8 ft fences and plenty of grass and hiding places. One day someone left a basket full of carrots for them.
You could always trim the first (and last) 1/2 mile or so to obfuscate your home and work addresses.
Or you could entirely make up a route, based on a location you would like to commute from :)

Taken my ride off. Lets just say its boring with no tree except near the RR where I get to see bunnies every morning. They are so cute. Cotton tails. I do get to see the sun rise though and its breath taking.

ride with gps (ridewithgps.com)
Right at about 10 miles. For a while I was taking highway frontage roads, because the traffic there is light and the route is direct, but I've started to prefer winding through the neighborhoods. This area was rural about 5-10 years ago, so bits of my commute are houses with acreage and horses. However, most of the nature has been razed to build mcmansions without improving on the narrow country one-lane roads.
Random note about my area: one of the towns on this map recently had a mayoral election. A grand total of 33 people voted in that election.
Here's mine.
About 14 miles one way, mostly rural and a lovely ride.....

Here's an old cemetary. Most of the cemetaries in this part of the state are above ground, the water table is just too high to bury people here. This is one of the oldest and largest, it's the size of an entire city block. Some of the tombs are hundreds of years old.

its out of the way, but if you're from the area you know why i would avoid the main streets. to put it lightly no one in langley park knows how to drive. seeing someone trying to turn into a shopping center from the center lane is not a rare sight.
the sligo creek parkway is gorgeous but its so sketcho on the anacostia trail hahahahah.

It's about 47km (or 29 miles, for metrically challenged). First part goes straight through town, just because it's faster than driving around the city. After that I cross the bridge into the next town, about 10 minutes, and after that it's a lot of green around me. Unfortunately about 30minutes alongside the highway...
Rotterdam is pretty urban as well, but after 15 minutes in Rotterdam I ride along a river upwards and another 5 minutes alongside a highway.
Best part is to ride alongside the river. Very enjoyable, nice view, nice speeds especially when riding along with other road cyclists. Life's good.
