General Cycling Discussion - Help with Industrial Design project

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am an industrial design student in Chicago and for my class final I have chosen to design a bike messenger bag. An important phase in the design process is to do research. I was hoping you could all help me out. You would be playing a major role in the design process, and when I finish the project I will be sure to show you the end product. I would really appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

What is the best messenger bag you have used so far?
-What do you like about it?
-What would you change about it?

What features do you look for in a messenger bag?

Thanks!

(I apologize for posting in the wrong forum, but any feedback would be helpful)

Maybe you could define what a messenger bag is to some of us dummies who might be able to answer your questions if we knew. Maybe I'm the only one who has no idea what it is.

I was confused as well. I thought it was one of those bags mounted on the frame that go on the 2 sides of the wheels. But after looking it up, it's just a backpack with 1 strap. which begs the question: just how many ways can you design a backpack with 1 strap? hang it around your neck? It doesn't seem like there's a lot of room for creativity
