So, the Levi's King Ridge Gran Fondo will probably be my first official century (after Fatty's 100 Miles of Nowhere which will have maybe 600 feet of climbing). I was supposed to do the Medio last year but thumb surgery forced me off the bike for the whole summer. This year, I just decided to bite off the whole thing.
I'm not that good of a climber and would like some info to prepare by trying to find similar climbs here in OC.
I know major climbs are King Ridge and Coleman Valley. What are the stats on those climbs? Climbing elevation, avg %n max % etc.
I know there are other climbs as well and would like info on those also.
And if any of you NorCal'ers know of similar climbs on SoCal, especially OC; that would be great as well.

Hey, last year I was a lousy climber, usually last or second to last in my group. Now am even and ahead of the guys riding a triple! Two things I did: one lose weight, I think it helped, second I sprinted up every hill and still do. Slowly at first some days they would be guys passing me on their big ring. I kept at it now I can make it up the hills on my big ring too. So find a hill and sprint up it 5 times twice a week. Before you know it you'll be in much better shape and the hills won't be as hard.

I am doing Levi's Gran Fondo as well I'll be wearing my 50+ kit. See you up there - Phil

Thanks, but still looking for the real info. In my experience, MMR really flattens out the hills on long rides.
I've heard of grades up to 18% or so and wonder how long they are.
I can't make it up something like that yet.
