Hi
I tried searching the forums but didn't end up finding what I was looking for.
I have a 2010 Motobecane Track, currently set up FG. The hub is a flipflop hub and I want to try a freewheel cog, and I know there are different thread patterns. How do I know which thread pattern I have? Is it just a matter of counting TPI or are the ridges higher on some thread patterns than others?

notice on the left side there are 2 thread sizes. the right side has one thread size.

the left side is for fixed. the lockring is a smaller diameter and reverse-threaded. the right side is for a freewheel, which just threads straight on.

I'm not quite sure but didn't I read in some other thread just last week that you can also fit a freewheel on the fixed side?

The most common by far is ISO, 1.375"x24TPI. It will be what's on your hub.

Get a fixed/ fixed hub; you can mount a cog or freewheel on both sides; which you can't do with a flip flop hub.

You can mount a freewheel on either side of your hub. But you can only put a fixed cog on the fixed side because that's the side that has provisions for a lockring.
