General Cycling Discussion - How long will this last: Finding Excuses

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Lately I've been finding myself creating little errands just so I have an excuse to ride somewhere.

Oh we're out of bananas? Trip.

Gee, I really could go for some orange soda (diet, of course). Trip

Huh, nothing interesting on TV. What's playing at the theater? Looking online is for pansies. Trip.

Hey, neighbor, you need something from the store? No? Darn. Trip anyway.

Probably because I just got the bike back after not having it for almost five weeks. . . and then before that without for a few years. I dunno. Just wondering if it will wear off or not.

Dude at the bike shop was right. The bastard.

I started riding at the beginning of this year and it still hasn't gone away. My wife and I carpool to work (about 12 miles one way) but I've been looking for any excuses I can find to ride in instead. Oh you're going to go in 30 min early (or late)? Trip!

That's lame. Tell your wife she'd get more of the hot italian sausage special if she had some better toned legs, and make her keep up with you on your 12 mile commute. And then take her shopping for miniskirts because, hell, you're gonna feel bad when she starts passing you on the way home from work and she'll have way nicer legs by then, might as well take some of the sting off.

Marriage: it could be like dating a school girl forever.
