Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Have a look at this pic & advise?

Newb here with a request for help.
This is a 20" frame I was given with some old wheels from a previous build:

I have the headset, BB, seatpost & saddle but am unsure what to add to make this bike look 'da bomb'!
If anyone can give me advice on things like frame colour, bars, stem I should try then that would be awesome ^^

Any reason why you don't want to keep the blue? I quite like it.

The blue looks great.

Get everything else in black and you're good to go. (Maybe throw in a bit of silver here and tehre for contrast)

It looks like you have a threaded fork / headset, so you will need a quill type stem and bars that fit it. Most of your choices will be old used parts, since quill stems are pretty much obsolete.

There are still lots of new quil options, low end but fully funtionally would be the origin 8 stems (http://www.origin-8.com/?page_id=48&cl1=STEMS) all the way up to the nitto stems (http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=17207). And except for the really high end ones you can usually find bars with the right diamater for a threaded stem

I really like the origin8 stuff especially the Classic Pro

It has a drop to it, so keep that in mind. The bike looks small, so it may not be the best choice for getting the right fit. Not saying dont get one, but it may not be the best idea. I have one on my bike and no problems.

im 5/9", do you think ill need a stem that angles up?

At 5'9" that bike is probably too small for you in general. 20" is the same as 50cm, which are usually bikes for some one in the 5' to 5'3" range. Its impossible to say with out trying to ride on it, but Id put the odds some where around 80% that the bike wont fit you.

If not planB looks like ill build it up and sell it if it wont fit/ride well !

A long seatpost means a less solid stable ride, the same for really high long stems which you would also need. They both work if a frame is a size or maybe two small. But with such a small frame it just wont work out.

It looks like a perfect bike for s fixed/ss conversion, sell it to a short friend and help them build it up. Then you have a riding buddy with a solid bike.

yea most definatley :D ill try and build it up with the parts I have and see if anyone is interested!
