Alright, so it's been a couple of days since my switchover to the dark side (clipless). So far, I really enjoy all of what people say about it, power transfer, pedal form, etc.
However, my favorite method of speed checking is the short, sweet whip skid. Unfortunately, I've noticed I've lost that ability with my Eggbeater setup. Typically, I use the back leg/foot to whip the rear out, but now the rotation of my foot clips me out.
I have considered the following:
1. I am using the standard Eggbeater MTB cleat on a pair of SIDI road shoes. The result is that it feels like I am pedaling on an ice cube, albeit attached to my foot. It is possible that the amount of rocking/floating that occurs is reducing my 'whipping' leverage. The solution to this would be to get something like this:

2. I am doing the whip skid completely wrong or with bad form. If I want to whip the back wheel left, I turn the front wheel left slightly, then lock up and immediately straighten my front wheel while fishtailing the rear wheel with my back right leg. My form definitely feels a little 'off,' as it is not always consistent.
Anyone out there using eggbeaters on road shoes? Do you use the 3 hole cleat? Or do you use some other pontoon out there that works for all shoes/cleats?
Thanks for your help.
