Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Stolen Bike

So, my bike got stolen, im leaving to backpack europe in 2 days and when i get back, if my bike has not shown up somehow, ill be in the market for a new one. A freind of mine works at a bike shop and can get a good deal on the PK Ripper, wondering if anyone has had any experience on their new frames, or any experience on how they are when used as a commuter. Thanks for the feedback guys.

yeah, i was thinking about the snapping and what not about the frames, but it would not be used for big tricks or anything. also, i would be getting it new for about $350, and at that price the only new bikes i could get that would be pretty nice would be something like the kilo

SE and fuji are housed under the same brand, I would talk with your buddy see if he can get you a deal on a Classic Track, its arguably a better bike than the Kilo(i would be on the Classic Track side) and its price for shops was about $300 last year.

As someone who works at a shop that sells Fuji and has owned a Kilo, I would say there is no way a Fuji Classic Track is the better of the two.

yo i got my bike back! the frame is all ****ed up though since they tried to use a pry bar to wrench the u lock off of the frame, so i think i might just buy the pk and sell all the parts off my bike and break even. w/e.

Even though they MAY be better now, I would personally say not to go with the breaker...Uhh...Ripper, but I guess it's your choice what to do. Also, I'm REALLY REALLY glad to hear that you got your bike back, sucks that it's a bit funky now though...Thieves are SO inconsiderate! :P

lol they are super inconsiderate right? i also just realized that they took the seat post clamp off and hammered a larger seat post into the frame. jeez they are super creative

Dude, the PK Ripper is a novelty. If you're going to be doing any sort of "commuting" - as stated in your original post - you're most likely going to hate it after three days.

It was made as a novelty version of the old PK ripper BMXs, and they put no thought into the build this time. If you have to go SE, get a different one even. The lager doesn't even seem like that terrible of a bike(compared to the PK) My cousin, and a friend have them and love em'!

taken into consideration guys thanks a lot. The only reason i was looking at the ripper is that my firnd gets deals on SE and i like fatter tires so i was leaning towards that. Also, i got my bike back cause someone bought it off some dude for $60 and then messaged me. I dealt with some pretty shady characters the other night trying to get it back and now thats another ordeal. Good thing im going away for 5 weeks!
