What's the best stock fixie to buy? I'm looking for a flip flop hub. And maybe bullhorn like handles if possible. Does anyone know a good stock fixie? (maybe around $500 ish? But let me know what you've seen that's really good) thanks

I picked up some great sirloin tips, corn on the cob and fresh potato salad at the local butcher shop this afternoon. About to crack open some cold suds, fire up the grill and have a post-Rapture feast!

One of these days a noob will actually believe you and buy a Big Shot bike, hate it, and never cycle again.
Obligatory Kilo TT comment here.
Also, Culver's for lunch today.

I doubt that half of the guys who ask these questions would care. Also, are they any worse than the 20+ year-old hi-ten 10 speeds all the hipsters ride these days? Gotta keep a little perspective.

All I had today was a 1/2 lb flamethrower meal with a Dr. Pepper and a medium chocolate Heath blizzard.

Picked up some beef, made some burgers with asparagus on the side while all enjoying a nice "Moon Man Pale Ale"...

Remember when Fabio was hit in the face by a bird while riding a rollercoaster in Virgina back in 1999? I remember watching it on the news and not being able to breathe because I was laughing so hard.

The blonde chick next to him is totally like "Oh come on, dude...that was funny!" but he's not having it at all. So good.

Sorry, this is what everyone does to the new people sometimes... Especially since the same question gets asked every day.
Scroll the first couple pages of SS/FG or do a search. You'll find what you're looking for, I promise.

i went with a windsor the hour. been loving the bike, great bike for city riding and basic tricking. if you search around you'll find a lot of like mercier kilo tt vs windsor the hour vs motobecane track (same as hour) vs etc threads. read through and determine for yourself what's best. that's how i went about it. both bikes are a great first bike, small differences in parts, feel, and geometry might determine what you wanna go for. best of luck
build your own... more warm fuzzy feelings when you ride it rather than a bike in a box.

I ate a bike in a box, it was delicious with relish

Getting all the individual parts is more generally more expensive.

Yup, people are just tired of everyone asking the exact same question without doing any research especially when there are hundreds and hundreds of posts about this exact same subject. It takes less time to find one of them then to even make a new thread. Just go spend sometime looking around and you will find what your looking for. If you really don't want to look stuff up then don't stay on this forum, the archives are there for a reason. Oh and go buy a kilo, thats what you'll end up doing eventually anyways haha.

Just to avoid the dogpile...
For a new complete:
<$400 = you're looking at something from BikesDirect - The 'nicest' steel bike there is a Kilo TT (which is a KHS Flite 100 w/o the local bike shop(LBS) markup.
$400-600 = Something 'basic' from a LBS that is not too much different from a Kilo TT only you are paying to support your LBS - includes a KHS Flite 100, a Swobo Sanchez, maybe a Fuji feather/classic, and a handful of others that aren't hi-ten.
$600-900 = Surly steamroller, Fuji feather/classic, Specialized langster steel, Masi, Bianchi pista(?), Wabi, Raleigh Rush Hour, and a few others I can't think of.
Over $900? Probably not a lot of completes, starting to get into 'bike build' territory which means even with a $250 Pake frame and fork(or a Leader) will end up setting you back $1000-1400. From there the sky is the limit - Cinelli, Vigorelli, Something NJS, Sugino 75s, DA/open pro wheels, $200 seats... etc...
So to recap, $500 = a Kilo (with $100 in your pocket and no LBS luv), a Swobo or a KHS (plus an additional $50-100) and maybe a couple of last year models with discounts in the $500 range...
Hope it helps
p.s. This should be a sticky :)

My gf is cooking something for dinner right now. I'm not sure what it is but I know it includes mac n' cheese and ground beef. Oh yeah plus my boss gave me a whole case of Old Speckeld Hen the other night so I'll be getting drunk on some delicious beer tonight.
