Hey all,

After not owning a bike for close to a decade, I just picked up an Iverson 3 spd at a yard sale today for a few bucks. I originally intended to restore it, however, after finding out they were pretty much a bottom of the barrel brand, I figured I might as well have fun with it and convert the bike over to a single speed or a fixie, I haven't decided yet. I'm just wondering if the frame is even worth using for such a conversion, and if so, should I be able to replace the wobbly, old wheels with slightly stouter new ones?

those dropouts look to be simply crimped into the stays :-/ . You can make it a cheap single speed with a basket and use it to go get groceries, but it may be best to leave it alone and use it as a beater bike that you're not worried about losing

The bike is so low quality, I wouldn't bother doing anything with it. Leave it as a 3-speed and ride it as-is.

Thanks for the feedback, I think I'll just see about trying to get the wheels trued up and put some better (safer) brakes on, rather than going through the trouble of a conversion. Incidentally, I think I may have stumbled across another candidate for a single speed conversion, so things may work out after all.
