Congrats on the accomplishment! Did you see many other examples of vintage bikes in the event?

Definatly the oldest bike there by at least 20 years. I was the oldest rider too.

Good job! I am looking forward to when I am capable of that kind of mileage. It is not for the faint of heart.

What is the make and model of the "old" trek - looks very nice.

Congrats! I have been riding a bit more this year. We did a nice 50 today. I hope to do a century at some point!

thats great. hey just curious, were you clipless or using straps? i just swapped out my spd's for my commute, but worried about longer rides without them

Man you did a great job for a great cause - I am sure some of the people riding had some of the best and worst equipment possible but I just could not help mentioning the quote below...
...there's nothing like outriding a person whose outfit costs more than your bike.

Shimano PD-M324 Clipless Pedals and MD 75 shoes. Just changed over to them from straps a few weeks ago. I wanted a shoe I could walk in and a pedal I could ride without cleats if I needed to. I should have changed to clipless a long time ago!

Not sure about that. I have two of them that are nearly identical. Some talk about them here (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php/733818-Help-me-ID-this-Trek?highlight=).

Great job! You now need to check into the C & V century a month challenge. The next one will be ever so slightly easier, since now you know you can do it.
