Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - where to buy straight front forks

I damaged my front fork riding my bike pretty hard, it's curved and currently the curve in it has just gotten worse and it's just kinda freaking me out since I don't want it to snap or anything. I was looking at getting a new front fork and I've seen ones around that are straight as opposed to curved and I was going to look into getting one. I was wondering if there were any specific brands that made better ones for cheap or if there was a good place to buy them? I have a pretty long head tube since it's a 63cm frame.

Affinity builds a really sweet straight fork. It's not super cheap but it looks really good.

You're really so much of a bruiser that your fork is bending beneath you as you ride?

Did you crash it or something? Old forks, espeically steel, are designed to bend and flex over bumps to provide a "suspension" sort of action. Right around the time lawyer lips and vertical dropouts became common it was apparently decided that forks must be made stiffer so they didn't appear weak and flexible.

Well I was doing wheelies and **** and coming down pretty hard on the fork and it just started bending from the impacts I guess. I ended up going with the Origin 8 Crmo Pro Pulsion Track Fork. I'm also upgrading to threadless now and they had it in 1" which is what I needed. Any thoughts on the one I ordered? I mean it's inexpensive but Origin 8 is usually good for the money

I feel like "doing wheelies and ****" on an origin8 carbon fork it just going to end extremely badly.

he said cromo but still i'd say be careful that's a "track" fork certainly not meant for that, there are some companies that make forks for this kind of abuse, they may cost a little more but you're going to find yourself soon replacing that orgin8 if you continue to trick on it

There's no way I'd do that to a carbon fork, I'm not an idiot. Heck I wish I could afford a carbon fork, I just got excited one day when I learned the technique and spent the day practicing for fun since it was so nice out. I don't really do tricks, I just needed a new fork, especially now.

I apologize, I read what you said too fast and somehow ended up reading carbon fork. Wheelies are still going to take a toll on your fork if it's not build to be put through that kind of abuse.

The Pake straight blade track forks are pretty cool, they retail at about $80 I think, and come in a variety of colors, if that is something you are looking for.

The Pake fork probably would have been a better choice considering it's a unicrown fork and can most likely withstand a little bit more abuse than the Origin 8 with a lugged crown.
