Under this chain whip there are two sizes with no explanations.

One is 1/2 by 1/8

The other is 1/2 by 3/32

Which do I get for a regular 9 speed and 8 speed cassette removal?

Thanks !

1/2 x 3/32.

3/32" is the nominal width of derailleur chains. 1/8" is the width of single-speed chains. All modern chains are 1/2" between rollers, center-to-center.

I use 1/2x1/8 on both 1/8 and 3/32 chains.
