OK, I'm working on upgrading my partners '97 Specialized Crossroads Sport which I talked about in this thread: http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php/730921-Updating-late-90-s-bikes.
Things are going well, except, my partner didn't like my choice of brake levers. On a bit of a whim I got a pair of Performance Bike Forte Team break levers for a good price. They look suspiciously like Tektro RT354's. Not what I would have chosen for myself, but I didn't think he'd notice, but he did. They are OK, but don't feel quite as 'quality' as he'd like and they are 'two-finger', and his former levers were at least 'three-finger'. Plus, he'd prefer all black levers.
The bike has cantilever breaks, so that cuts out most levers, esp. Avid and Shimano. About the only think I've found that looks like it will work with canti breaks and meet his other critera are Cane Creek Flat Tops.
Anyone familiar with these? Do they have a good solid feel? Are they at least 'three-finger'?
Any other suggestions?
(BTW, my '98 Giant Yukon has V-brakes and is probably getting Avid Speed Dial 7 Levers. I wish those would work with cantis.)
