Thought I'd see if anyone else has had this issue and what the fix was. I have been mtbing for about 5 months now. About 6 weeks ago, I began to notice pain in my left hand where the fingers and hand meet. It wasn't bad, just annoying. It has gotten progressively worse, and during a race yesterday I actually had to stop to let the pain subside. It tends to happen most when I am modulating with the front brake. I have had a few crashes the past coupel months, and during one crash I messed up my left thumb pretty bad but I can't recall any specific hand issues. The pain feels a lot like a strain of some sort.... strong burning sensation.

I have been fitted to the bike and like I said the pain is somewhat new. No issues with the right hand at all. My grips are Oury if that matters. I circled the area where the pain is. Planning to schedule an appointment with a doc as well to get it checked out.

I was going to mention fitting, but it looks like you did that.

Maybe get re-fitted anyway, so that you can have a different angle? That might be the problem. Sounds like you're putting a lot of pressure in that one spot.

What gloves are you wearing?

I think this because my gloves were giving me pain because the material overlapped and pinched my skin.

Find some better fitting gloves or cut that area that effects you out of the glove itself.
