They were available but would only fit certain cranksets. Why do you need a 20T?

depends on what crank you have, and how many arms on the spider/what bolt circle diameter it has.

if it's any of the newer four arm styles, you're pretty much SOL, unless it's a 58mm four arm. sugino makes a ring for that. ~ $15.
if it's the "standard" 64mm/104mm BCD, you're limited to a 22 as your small.

if you have an older "compact" 58mm/94mm BCD five arm crank, you can get 20T rings. cruise your local shops/whatever online places you shop for one.

if you are wanting a bit lower gearing, and can't fit a 20T, next bet would be going up to a 34T big on your cassette, if it isn't already. or swapping to one of the older compact crank sizes.

Do you want a 20T chainring or are you just curious?

I have the 24 on the front and a 32 on the back and I have trouble keeping the bike rolling in that gear. LoL.

BTW...I think it's a 24f 32r...not 100% sure either way...it's insanely granny.

I wanted at 20-34 beacuse my bike is pretty heavy and i ride it up hill as well as down. some of the switch backs i need to go up to come down, are vary steep. standing up in granny gear trying the keep the frontend down and the back end on traction
