Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - It's Almost Over

My Bday that is!:D Gina took me to breakfast, then to every LBS we could find. Looking for matching helmets. We don;t need them but hey, would be cool to have them. But anything $80 was butt ugly and the good stuff was $250. Outrageous! Nothing really good looking either. So Gina says I should get a $200 helmet for myself since it's my birthday. I can't do it! Even the $200 models are plain ugly IMO. I still have a new helmet sitting in the box,wore 4 times in the last 2 years so why do I need another other than matching on the bikes. Forget it! Maybe a tensionmeter so I'm looking online. Helmets are just plain crazy now. I just might stop wearing one in protest haha!

So we went to the Red Lobster for dinner. I wanted the lobster nachos for appetizers but somehow Gina talked me into the lobster pizza. You would have thought it was her B day. :D

Best part, about 9 pm she comes marching in the room with a cake and a tune!:eek: She got me by surpise on that one.:love:

I'm 47 and don't have much white hair. It's all white, there's just not much of it. Glad you enjoyed your b-day, and I second the tensionmeter instead of an overpriced helmet.

We have a bunch of In-N-Outs here in NorCal too. Took a while for them to move north, but when they did we got plenty of them. Good burgers:thumb:

I used to buy the T-shirts every year. They have a different design every year. I got tired of people asking me if I worked there, then giving me the "You're weird" look when I told them no, so I gave them all away.

If you and Gina are interested in matching helmets, that aren't ugly (to you) have you considered having a couple helmets custom painted?

I'd assume that the same airbrush paints that are used for Lexan RC car bodies would be safe to use on our helmets. It just won't be sprayed from the inside out so no protection from scratches.

Happy Birthday Beanz! Yeah helmet prices suck. I got a bell Swept for $120 and that was about as high as i wanted to go for something that looked nice, the next range was $160 and like you said everything below $100 is ugly.

I looked into custom painted helmets years ago. Cheapest dude we found at an indoor swapmeet, $250!:eek:. We had our tandem painted onto the back of a t-shirt $40. :thumb: He had some sweet designs but heck, that's alot of dough. :(

Welcome to 48... Also, love the shirt, we got In-N-Outs here in Utah not too long ago. Love the burgers, still not a fan of their fries...
