I'm sure it's nothing special, but I encountered a bar end plug that I've never seen before, and I'm wondering what its purpose is. Found on a bike I picked up yesterday:

I looks like someone rotated the bars back about 90 degrees from the original orientation, but left the grips (and presumably the doodad) in their original position, if that helps any. Any clues?

Maybe something clipped onto it.... like a mirror??

Hold your cue sheet, or your grocery list?

Are there two? Is it possible someone re-purposed something as a bar end cap?

It's definitely a clip of some sort, but it seems too light to hold a mirror. There's only one on the bike, and it's possible that it's not a bike accessory at all. Weird...
