Winter Cycling - Where can I find 700x28c or narrower studded snow tires

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I checked out Nokian's website, but could only find 700x35c, which is a bit too wide for my road bike.

Perhaps someone can suggest another outlet.

Thanks,

Andrew

No. Maybe someday...

OTOH, if you find a 700x25 to 32 cyclocross knobby made with relatively soft rubber, it would work quite well in snow and even in ice, providing you don't do any stunts.

I have seen a Schwalbe knobby in 700x32 but haven't tried it. But I do have a no-name, a Specialized Cyclocross and a Vittoria Lizzard (all in 700x37), and the Lizzard seems the best in wet slushy show or powder snow (almost as good as the Nokian), and quite effective on ice, because its rubber seems to grip well on ice. And the smooth centre makes it a nice rolling tire on asphalt.
