Fixed Gear Freestyle - Good Trick Frame

Hey, I am somewhat new to the fixed gear community. Just wondering what a are some good parts/frames that I could use for not only commuting but for tricks as well?

I dont trick at all but if I did I would would be riding an All City Drop Out or an All city Def Wish. For wheels I would use Sun Ringle MTX 33 rims laced to All City New Sherrifs. That gives you a super strong and sweet frame and wheelset, for the other parts I would see what some of the hardcore riders are using so that you can stuff that will hold up to the rigors of fixed tricking.

Leader trk trickstar; lifetime warranty that's so good that even if you kill the frame with tricks, you get a free replacement. My friend cracked his 1st generation trickstar and leader hooked him up with the newest version 3.

Best is the warranty is transferable and it is expedited if you do it through a leader dealer.

This place isnt especailly knowledgable in that area, but over at http://tricktrack.org/forums/ there are a bunch of people that are very very good with that stuff.

Check out the history of bmx, moutain biking, cyclocross, or even road racing. There were people trying to make the same, silly point.

i don't trick and i think it's all lame(go free ride or slopestyle but get a real bike) but if i did it would be on a durcus or the p-fix.

You can even see with the advent of smaller/stronger frames and wider tires and stronger wheels etc fgfs is very quickly becoming (handicapped) freestyle bmx.

Fixed freestyle is a different thing from bmx. BMX is definatly one of the roots of fgfs, but they are no way the same. BMX bikes exist for doing BMX tricks, and now FGFS bikes are being built for FGFS. How can something that is a different thing, just be a handicapped version of something different? Punk isnt a handicapped version of rock music, and football isnt a handicapped version of rugby. They are different things.

yeah football and rugby are different things. They're defined by their rules not the ball they use. fgfs is about doing tricks that are already being done by bmx guys. Is it fun to watch? Sure. Does it take a lot of skill? of course. but fgfs is like playing football with a cinderblock. The drivetrain and the size of the bike are handicaps.

What exactly is fgfs bringing to the table that bmx cant?

A fixed drive train, and larger bikes. A totally different world of doing tricks on a bike.

They are different things, that does not make them handicaps.

A different world of doing tricks sure, but they're still the same tricks. It's just much more difficult on a large fg bike and that's the definition of a handicap. ok im done.

Taking basic BMX tricks and doing them on a bigger bike definitely isn't bringing something new to the table. When I see a trick that can ONLY be done on a FGFS bike, I will accept it as innovative.
